Beautiful. The simplicity of life, the privilege of being an observer, and knowing that the answers are there in the ever-changing landscapes.
What really resonated with me was the acknowledgement that sometimes where we are is not so much of a choice but it where we landed. I have. Been thinking about this recently and have been actively seeking and stating all the wonderful things about where I live...where I landed. Focusing on the beautiful and knowing that beauty can be found anywhere if we really look. And, in honesty, I don't need to look hard here as it is beautiful but I don't know if it's where I want to be...and I haven't found that place that truly calls to me yet. So, I will seek beauty where I am and take pleasure in the exploration of other places that I have the privilege to visit.
So, beautiful, Alice. My truth is that I feel most comfortable when embracing the simplicity in life and taking time to experience the awe that is all around us.
I'm so glad these words resonated so deeply, Tanya. Sometimes the answers are right there in the simplicity of what is always around us.
I particularly enjoy hearing how a specific idea I write about stands out for someone!💕 I felt that sense of 'landing where we land' so deeply as I observed the people in the village and how, there are definitely lessons in that. I'll be returning to my hometown in the UK soon so I think I've been playing with this idea subconsciously. And you're right—beauty IS everywhere and sometimes I think we spend so much time looking elsewhere, or further, deeper, more more MORE that we miss life's most special moments. Yet often it's those moments that are waiting to teach us the most!! (Like the orange-seller.)
You and I are very similar, Tanya, in our truth being embracing the true simplicity of life. Let's breathe into those precious moments.🙏🏻
Thank you for being here and taking the time to share your thoughts! 💖
What beautiful images. I love the idea of some landscapes encouraging openess and some therefore perhaps being more secretive. I wonder if the type of landscape we are exposed to over a lifetime plays a role in shaping our personalities.
Oh I love this thought process, Katherine—do landscapes shape our personalities—I really think they do. It's like how the weather can influence our mood. Perhaps this is why I like to move around so much, because I'm matching each landscape to my feelings and where I'm at in my life. Right now I'm typing this looking out over the sea and I'm wondering if perhaps I needed the vast openness to help me mentally LET GO. I hadn't thought of it like that before...Thank you for sharing! 🙏🏻
Dear Sarah, you always say the kindest things. I'm so glad this stirred something within you.🤗 It's exciting to step forth with openness and wait to see what comes back...we'll see! Sending love xx
Ah, dear Nicki! Always lovely to see your name pop up.🤗 Thank you for your kind words, I'm glad this piece of writing offered you a moment to be lost in your thoughts. Much love to you, too! Oh how I miss hanging out. Maybe soon xx
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Claire! I'm sure you can relate a little with your time in Portugal.🤗 And yes—UNRAVELLING—it's been quite the experience...it's amazing how, when you truly let go and allow things to just be, it all begins to come together again in all the right ways. It's lovely to see you here in the comments thread! Much love xxx
What a beautiful moment with the orange-seller! So much gentle wisdom in this post. May the next chapter be as bright, refreshing and nourishing as those oranges, dear Alice. Sending big hugs and much love. xx
