“Yoga, the union of mind body and spirit: the anchor drawing me back to myself.”
More than twenty years ago a yoga videotape landed in my hands that changed my life forever. Suddenly I had found somewhere for me; a peaceful place to transform anger, sadness and trauma, into love, positivity and hope.
Those early days practicing a Vinyasa Flow style of yoga at home, eventually led to numerous classes wherever I found myself in the world, and a growing love for yoga as a physical practice. As I fell more deeply in love with the practice, I naturally began to explore the spiritual side of this lifestyle but not with any particular focus; only curiosity.
Fast forward to May 2022 and following a year of profound grief and illness I decided to harness this connection to my yoga mat, and go deeper. An opportunity to study for my 200hr teaching certificate presented itself and despite never before believing I would actually teach, hungry for knowledge, I signed up.
On this journey something wonderful happened...all my years of spiritual exploration, nature connection and nomadic living—of seeking out a calmer, more peaceful existence—came together within the greater sphere of yoga.
I had found where I wanted to direct my energy fully.
I have since gone on to complete my 300hr Yoga Mastery certificate, making me a 500hr Yoga Alliance-recognised teacher, and continue to be a dedicated student as I now find myself leaning deeper into Bhakti Yoga and the study of sacred texts.
My passion is in sharing the benefits of yoga as a lifestyle right here on Substack with my 👉 Slow Members👈 as well as with students of my online school 👉The Holistic Hub Yoga Studio👈 I also lead occasional in-person workshops wherever I find myself wandering.

Kind words shared by some of my beautiful students:
"I wanted to email and thank you for holding such wonderful practices. I've really enjoyed each one, they've helped me grow in confidence, helping me regulate by having that essential time for me and it's just been so much fun practicing with all of you. I've never been brave enough to go to a class, so it's a big deal." - Katie
"I just wanted to let you know how amazing I found your yin class. My intention this morning was about staying calm and after the session I definitely felt like a weight had been lifted and have been able to keep the ‘calm’ within me for the rest of the day too. It also has made me feel so much more positive and reenergised. I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed it and to thank you personally." - Liz
"After so many years of thinking yoga wasn't for me, I've found my love for it so thanks Alice, that's all down to you and your teaching and encouragements. - Claire
"I wish to tell you how much I am enjoying these classes and hope you will be able to continue as long as possible. A friend sent me the following quote many years ago which makes me think of our unconscious impact on others: Albert Schweitzer wrote ‘one thing stirs within me when I look back on my life; it is the fact that so many people meant so much to me without knowing it. They entered into my life and became a spiritual power within me. If we have them before us who have been a blessing to us, they would be amazed to learn what passed from their lives to ours.’ I feel this way about your sessions. Thank you. " - Eileen
"I do your Zoom class and much prefer it to the live class I do locally. You're so engaging and warm and you care so much about us. I truly feel that even through a screen." - Amanda
"This week has been wonderful with yoga and meditation. I once again listened to your sound offering this afternoon which was blissful and very much needed. Whilst listening to you and your teachings I've finally understood connection and how being alone and connecting with nature and breath is not a treat but a necessity for me. I've been completing my short journal each night and now entwining yoga and meditation into my daily life, I am starting to feel free and more my true self." - Hayley
"I like to get a full body massage every once in a while as a relaxing treat. Well recently I told a friend that coming to your classes feels exactly the same!" - Rachel
"Alice has such a calm vibe - her classes are soothing and make you feel nourished and relaxed. Her experience in yoga and her holistic nature-fuelled ethos will help you feel like a new person." - Sarah
"I've loved the last four weeks. Thank you for making the classes so thoughtful. You can really feel the time and consideration you have put into the sessions. Looking forward to my next block of indulgent Mondays!" - Catherine
