January: Restorative Yoga (& Sound) Class
Withdraw your senses, uncover your light, and let your mind become your best friend with this 'Sleepy Sunday' practice.
Dear Slow Members,
Today I woke up inspired to share with you a Sleepy Sunday relaxing yoga and sound experience. I hope you will gain as much from it as I did.
Inspired by a course I recently attended—Krishna & Christ—within the class I share some of the teachings I have found myself musing on in the past week. Namely:
Withdrawal of the Senses.
The mind as best friend or enemy.
Let Your Light Shine.
In this class you’ll enjoy:
Two relaxing restorative poses (grab your bolsters, cushions and rolled blankets!), which you can do on your yoga mat, bed, or even your sofa.
A short meditation accompanied by a couple of my Tibetan Singing Bowls.
And I close practice by *singing a few rounds of the Gayatri Mantra accompanied by my harmonium.
*Please note, I don’t see myself as a singer! But I wanted to share this part of my personal practice with you as chanting can have such a profound and positive effect on our emotional self. If you feel inspired to join in, here are the words:
oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ
tát savitúr váreṇyaṃ
bhárgo devásya dhīmahi
dhíyo yó naḥ pracodáyāt
