April: Yoga Nidra Experience
Make yourself a comfy, cosy 'nest' and enjoy this 30-minute meditation followed by suggested journalling prompts.
Dear Slow Members,
I invite you to make a super cosy ‘nest’ from where to fully enjoy this Yoga Nidra practice. Cushions, blankets, eye patches — get completely comfy. You can even enjoy this experience from your bed, or your sofa (or maybe outside lying on the grass!). You might also want to introduce some soft lighting and incense and truly give . yourself . over . to ME TIME.
Yoga Nidra is a Sanskrit term meaning "yogic sleep" and is a deeply relaxing meditation technique. In yoga nidra we aim to touch that state between sleeping and waking, where your body is completely relaxed and yet your awareness remains with my gentle instructions.
This is the perfect way to practice pratyahara — the fifth limb of Patanjali’s eight-limbed path as outlined in the Yoga Sutras — which is the process of withdrawing the mind from distracting sensory impressions so that it settles into a calm and undisturbed state of silent witnessing.
